On Saturday, April 22 at 10am, McIntosh College will be hosting a cooking demonstration to showcase the culinary skill and international expertise of Frederic Filliodeau, Executive Chef of the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program in Ottawa, Canada.
Born and trained in France , Chef Filliodeau has cooked at some of the world's most prestigious restaurants, most recently including, Nuances, a 5-star restaurant at the Montreal Casino in Canada . He has also received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, most notably, being ranked as one of Quebec 's Top 50 Young Hopefuls.
As a representative of Le Cordon Bleu and its tradition, Chef Filliodeau's demonstration at McIntosh will combine new ingredients and innovative techniques with culinary standards and classic French cuisine. Through observing different culinary methods and tasting new creations, guests of the event will hopefully gain a new perspective on culinary arts as an industry and a pastime.
Chef Filliodeau, like most Master Chefs, has spent a good portion of his career traveling the world, cooking with different chefs, identifying new trends and continuously improving his craft, and it is that mentality that Le Cordon Bleu strives to maintain. Every year, Le Cordon Bleu chefs visit different Le Cordon Bleu schools throughout the world, including McIntosh, to share ideas and develop new ones.
In conjunction to his public demonstration, Chef Filliodeau will spend two-weeks at McIntosh offering developmental training to the instructors and students, as well as co-teaching classes. Jim Gallivan, Executive Chef of McIntosh explains, Le Cordon Bleu is the gold standard when it comes to cooking schools and we are greatly supported by its international program. The contact that we have with that school and the access to premier chef's throughout the world, ensures that our standards will be of the very highest.
Chef Filliodeau's culinary demonstration is open to the public and will be held at McIntosh's Atlantic Culinary Academy campus located at 181 Silver Street, Dove, New Hampshire.
