Culinary Training Restaurant - L'Esprit
Dine on French cuisine in quiet comfort at L'Esprit, a premier culinary training facility on the McIntosh College campus. With a tradition of French cooking that is steeped in history and highly reputed, L'Esprit can help train students interested in studying Culinary Arts.
We are confident that you will enjoy the cuisine created in our culinary training restaurant. L'Esprit's mouthwatering five-course meals include soup, salad, appetizer, entrée, and dessert. As an added bonus, an amuse bouche ("happy mouth" in French) is provided before the soup to stimulate the appetite for the sumptuous feast to come. Enjoy mignardises after dessert to complete the spectacular gastronomical experience.
For those who imbibe, the restaurant has a Cellars Master Wine List, which offers tips on which wines to pair with which foods. In addition, there is a sommelier that can make personal recommendations and answer any questions that guests might have on the French and American selections. The restaurant has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence several times.
Culinary Training Dining – Uniqueness & Value
Chef instructor Stephen Hunn touted, "The value of the meals as well as the uniqueness of the food is what the public should know about. The dining experience and value of what the customer gets can't be beat." Hunn also noted that the students gain more practical experience as more customers frequent the establishment.
The cost of the entire dinner is $24.95 (since this is a culinary training facility, tipping is prohibited). Patrons who would like to taste a variety of the food offered on the menu can request a tasting rather than a three- or five-course meal. Menus change approximately every six weeks.
As an after-dinner treat, guests may request a tour of the facilities, which include various kitchens and culinary training laboratories. Students and chef instructors are happy to chat about their methods and answer questions about the meals, service or culinary curriculum.
Reservations can be made by calling (603) 750-1504. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Friday; seating for dinner is between 5:30 and 8 p.m.
